Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Policy

At On The Mend, we are committed to creating a fair, inclusive, and respectful environment for our employees, partners, users, and the wider communities we serve. As a digital health company embedded in healthcare systems and operating globally, we recognise the essential role of equality, diversity and inclusion in improving health outcomes and driving innovation.

Our Commitments

  1. Inclusive Workforce

    • We are an equal opportunities employer. All employment decisions - including recruitment, pay, promotion, and training - are based on merit, qualifications, and business needs, without regard to age, disability, gender identity, marital or civil partnership status, pregnancy or maternity, race, religion or belief, sex or sexual orientation.

    • We actively seek to recruit and retain individuals from underrepresented backgrounds in health technology and clinical research.

  2. Accessible Design and Delivery

    • Our platform is co-designed with patients, clinicians, and community advocates to ensure it is inclusive, culturally sensitive and accessible to users of all literacy and digital ability levels.

    • We offer analogue alternatives, translation features, audio narration and interface customisation for people with visual, cognitive, or physical impairments.

  3. Equity in Research and Implementation

    • We embed equity metrics into all pilot studies and ensure that ≥20% of participants are from underserved or marginalised communities.

    • Our PPI (Patient and Public Involvement) strategy prioritises lived experience and includes paid roles, multilingual engagement, and support for contributors with caring responsibilities or accessibility needs.

  4. Respectful Culture

    • We have a zero-tolerance policy towards discrimination, harassment, bullying, or victimisation.

    • All team members complete annual training on unconscious bias, cultural competence, and inclusive leadership.

  5. Global Cultural Awareness

    • As we expand into international markets, we commit to respecting and adapting to local cultural norms while upholding universal human rights and ethical standards.

  6. Transparency and Accountability

    • Our leadership team monitors EDI progress quarterly and reviews this policy annually.

    • We welcome anonymous feedback, conduct regular employee engagement surveys, and act swiftly on EDI concerns raised by staff or external stakeholders.

Governance
Our Chief Executive Officer oversees EDI strategy, supported by the entire leadership team. EDI metrics are reported quarterly to the executive team and used to shape internal policies, hiring practices, and external partnerships.
